How to make homemade almond milk

Making homemade almond milk is relatively simple. It is enough to soak a glass of almond kernels and after mixing with water with the help of a mixer, filter it. In the following, we discuss the details and important tips for making this delicious herbal drink.

Water: one to four glasses

Cocoa powder, honey, dates: as desired

Preparation of almonds

Boil a glass of almonds for one minute in 1.5 liters of water.

Then remove the almonds from the flame and pour them into the ice water. At this point, you can easily remove the brown skin of the almonds.

Put the almonds in a bowl of water and let them soak well. It is better to soak almond kernels overnight, that is, for about 8 to 12 hours.

Mix almonds with a mixer

After draining the almonds, put it in a blender with some water and mix well to make a smooth paste.

The amount of water needed at this stage depends on your expected concentration. You can add one glass of water for one glass of almonds. In this case, you will have thicker almond milk. You can add 4 glasses of water for one glass of almond kernels, in which case your almond milk will be thinner. More than 4 glasses of water is not recommended.

Optionally, when mixing water and almond kernels, you can add some dates, cocoa powder or honey to this mixture to make the almond milk taste better.

If you make almond milk for children, be sure to use boiled water.

Taking almond extract

In the final stage, it is enough to smooth the obtained paste mixture with the help of a clean sieve to obtain almond milk. Your drink is ready to drink.

 

You can strain the almond milk again to make it better quality.

You can mix almond kernels and get almond extract in two steps. First, mix almond kernels with a glass of water and filter it. Then mix the remaining ingredients and broken almonds with another glass of water and filter again.

You can use the remaining almond pulp in baking. For this purpose, pour the remaining dough in a container to dry. Then grind it and use it as almond flour.

To store almond milk, it is better to put it in a closed glass container. You can store this drink in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
